Welcome to the official web site for the Wolfpack Motorcycle Association! We are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico with members from Albuquerque and the surrounding area. We are in the process of getting started so this web site will be rather minimal at first but I'll be adding to it on a regular basis. Click here to go to Xpress Motorcycle Care. This is the place that takes care of all our motorcycle needs.

2007 RED RIVER MEMORIAL DAY RUN

At the moment all I can put up here is a write up and some pictures of the road trip Billy, Perry, and Jeff (me) took up to the 2007 Red River Memorial Day Run. We rode up on Friday getting into Eagle Nest a little after 3pm. On the way we stopped in Taos and visited some friends who told us about hitting some pretty good sized hail that day. We could see the storm clouds coming fast so we hauled butt out of Chapel at the Viet Nam Veteran's Memorialthere and headed to Eagle Nest where we were staying. After riding through the mountains and a few sprinkles and over some wet roads we got there about 20 minutes before the storm hit. We were lucky, Ted said that he was a couple hours behind us (he was staying in Llano Quemado with friends) and had to stop and find shelter to let it blow by! At any rate, when the rain stopped (well almost) we got the tents up and decided the weather would keep us from hitting Red River that night.

Saturday morning was beautiful! After breakfast we went over to the Viet Nam Veteran's Memorial to pay our respects. This is a "must see" tribute to the veterans of the Viet Nam War. It was a very humbling experience. There were some great displays and tributes to the soldiers who never made it back home. In the museum was a plaque with the names of the fallen men from New Mexico, and Perry found the name of a friend he graduated high school with. They also had a very good documentary that was shown continually during the hours they were open. We also visited the chapel and said a prayer. After that it was off to Red River! What can you say about the rally but Wow! The entire main street through town was lined on each side and down the middle with bikes. Booths and vendors all throughout with all the food and merchandise ("That's where the real money's made") you could want. We spent probably most of the day at the Mother Lode where they had a constant lineup of live bands. This is also the best place to hook up with friends (A shout out to Ted, Vince, Patrick, Natalie, etc...) There were intermittent dark clouds throughout the day, Bikes lined up at Red Riverbut it only amounted to a few sprinkles of rain. Certainly nothing to deter the biker crowd. I don't think we even noticed it. The clouds also did nothing to keep us from getting way too much sun but who cares! Just before sunset we headed back to Eagle Nest for a good dinner and some fun at their local establishments.

Sunday morning was the start of another beautiful day. At breakfast we decided that we were going to head home after spending more time in Red River. What we did was pack everything up and head over to the rally. My thanks to Billy and Perry for their patience while I packed up. This was my first road trip and somehow I managed to be the guy with the biggest load on the smallest bike. After we hung out in Red River for a couple of hours we left town out through Questa and down the west side of the "Enchanted Circle" to Taos and then on to Albuquerque and home. We did though, have to stop at the far edge of Questa to change into our rain gear for the ride into Taos as it looked pretty nasty. We did hit some rain but pushed on to Taos undeterred. From there the weather was great all the way home.

What follows is a collection of pictures I took to document the trip...
